What if We Could Heal Cavities Instead of Drilling with Curodont?

Treating a cavity has almost always meant using a drill or laser to fix the tooth. But what if early tooth decay could be treated without drilling or removing any of the tooth structure?

At Airway Dental & More, we are excited to be offering Curodont™, an advanced peptide technology designed to help repair the early stages of tooth decay before a cavity fully forms. When early decay is left untreated, it can progress and cause considerable damage to the tooth. This can lead to more extensive dental treatment, which is why it is so important to have regular cleanings and checkups with your dentist.

The peptides in Curodont™ are amino acids, the building blocks of protein. You may be most familiar with peptides because they are commonly used in skin care to increase hydration and improve elasticity, and they can also aid in wound healing. A similar process occurs in the tooth when the peptide is applied. It creates a scaffold that supports remineralization using minerals naturally present in your saliva, helping to strengthen early enamel lesions and improve the appearance of white spot lesions.

This non-invasive, drill-free application takes about three minutes. After treatment, the tooth continues to remineralize over time as minerals from your saliva are deposited into the treated area. In many cases, a single application may be sufficient, although your dentist will determine whether additional treatment is needed based on your individual situation.

This treatment is safe for many children and adults and offers a comfortable, pain-free way to treat eligible early areas of tooth decay without the fear of drilling. Imagine your child coming to Airway Dental & More for a routine cleaning appointment and having early areas of tooth decay treated during the same visit; quickly, effectively, and without fear or discomfort. It's a calmer, happier dental experience for the whole family.

Not every cavity is a candidate for Curodont™. This treatment is most effective for early, non-cavitated enamel lesions before a hole has formed. If decay has progressed further, a traditional filling or other restorative treatment may still be the best option.

Dr. Stevenson is committed to bringing the most modern advancements in dentistry to Jacksonville. Curodont™ represents a shift toward minimally invasive care and preserving the natural tooth structure whenever possible.

At our practice, we are dedicated to creating beautiful, whole-health, airway-centered results by staying at the forefront of education and technology. Curodont™ is an exciting step forward in modern dentistry, and we're thrilled to offer this advanced treatment to the families we serve.

If you're interested in learning whether Curodont™ may be right for you, call and schedule an appointment at 904-268-4466. We're happy to answer your questions and help you determine whether this innovative treatment is a good fit for your smile.
